Choose by the area of the garment
For cuffs, hems, waist details or an edging, start with the lace trims and decorative trims category. For a shaped neckline, review the neckline appliques separately. If the requirement is a whole embroidered panel, look at full-width embroidery. These routes are starting points for a shortlist; the final choice still depends on the measurements and construction of the selected item.
Measure the decoration where it will be attached
Record the width you can accommodate and the length needed at the intended seam or edge. If a trim has a repeating motif, discuss where the repeat should start and end. Include any corner, curve or join that may affect placement. Do not assume every trim bends around a neckline or that a photographed motif can be divided without changing its appearance.
Explore the productsCheck the base and visible decoration
Review the product detail images for the apparent base colour and decorative elements. Ask about composition, dimensions and attachment requirements where they are not confirmed. Compare the trim beside the main fabric before approving the combination. Screen images help shortlist options, but cannot establish the exact shade, weight or feel of the combined garment.
Request the correct selling unit
A length of trim, a shaped applique and a fabric piece may be sold differently. State the required application and quantity, then ask Rose to confirm the unit and minimum for each reference. Do not use the wax specification of one 6-yard piece for decorative items. Keeping units explicit also makes it easier to compare different options fairly.
Your buying checklist
- Identify the placement: edge, neckline or garment panel.
- Measure the required width and applied length.
- Review colour and attachment with the main fabric.
