Comparing Wholesale Fabric Quotations Without Mixing Units

A quotation comparison can be misleading when one line refers to a piece and another to a different length or width. Before deciding which proposal suits your business, align the specification and what each line includes. The website does not publish prices; use this worksheet with the actual written responses to your enquiry.

Match the item before comparing the offer

Write the reference, colour and approved sample beside each proposal. An alternative design or changed composition is not automatically the same requirement. If alternatives are acceptable, give them separate rows and note what differs, so a lower-looking figure does not conceal a different product.

Put quantities into comparable units

Keep the original selling unit and calculate an equivalent quantity only when the relationship is confirmed. For this wax range, one piece is 6 yards. Other categories require their own confirmation. A larger total length does not establish equivalent garment yield if widths, motif placement or supply format differ.

Ask what the quotation includes

List the terms actually stated and mark anything unclear as a question. Discuss packing, destination-related arrangements and any other relevant conditions directly. Do not assume unstated costs, services or timings are included. The aim is a like-for-like written brief, not a claim that the cheapest-looking line is always the best choice.

Keep a decision note with the selected version

Save the response date, quantities, assumptions and unresolved points. If the requested quantity or colour changes, ask whether the offer needs updating. Confirm the final details before proceeding rather than merging several conversations into a set of terms that no one has explicitly accepted.
