Keep pieces and yards separate
Write “3 pieces × 6 yards” rather than “3 wax” when requesting a quantity. Three pieces represent 18 yards in total, but do not assume they form one continuous length. If continuity matters for a large pattern or a specific cutting layout, ask how the selected reference is supplied before approving the order.
Check the cutting layout at 115 cm wide
A garment plan prepared for a wider fabric may not fit this width. Ask your dressmaker to consider the actual pattern pieces, seam allowances, motif direction and any areas that need matching. Do not assume a fixed garment yield from six yards. Size, style, sleeves, lining and the placement of large motifs can change the requirement.
Explore the productsPlan a trial by design and colour
The confirmed minimum for the wax range is one piece, meaning 6 yards. This supports a small wholesale trial, but it does not establish the minimum for another product category. List each reference and colour separately and ask about current availability. A combined total alone does not explain how the order should be divided.
Record what a repeat enquiry must match
Retain the product reference, approved colour reference and any agreed sample details. Screens and lighting can affect appearance, and a later supply needs its own confirmation. Before planning a repeat purchase, ask whether the same design and colour can be supplied and whether there are differences to review. Keep order-specific terms in the written conversation.
Your buying checklist
- Confirm 1 piece = 6 yards; 3 pieces = 18 yards.
- Use 115 cm width in the cutting discussion.
- Check motif placement with the dressmaker.
- Request availability for each reference and colour.
